Dubai International (DXB) has a lounge for almost every traveller: walk in and pay from about 200 AED, use a Priority Pass or premium credit card, or enter free with a business/first ticket or airline status. Emirates runs its own vast lounges in Terminal 3 (Emirates passengers only) — everyone else uses the Marhaba, Ahlan and airline lounges across Terminals 1, 2 and 3. How do I get into a Dubai Airport lounge?

Four ways, and most independent lounges accept all of them:

• Fly business or first — your airline's lounge is included with the ticket.
• Airline loyalty status — e.g. Emirates Skywards or a Star Alliance/oneworld tier for partner lounges.
• A lounge-access membership — Priority Pass, DragonPass or LoungeKey, often bundled free with a premium travel credit card. Check your card before paying.
• Walk in and pay at the door — from about 200 AED at Marhaba, no ticket class or membership needed.

The catch: airline-owned lounges (like Emirates) admit only their own premium passengers. Independent lounges — Marhaba, Ahlan, The Emperor — are the ones open to everyone.

Lounges by terminal (T1, T2, T3)

DXB's terminals are far apart, so use the lounge in the terminal you fly from (terminal layout):

• Terminal 3 (Emirates) — the Emirates Business and First Class lounges are among the largest in the world, some with direct boarding gates; Emirates passengers and Skywards only. A Marhaba lounge in Concourse B is open to pay-in and Priority Pass.
• Terminal 1 (most international airlines) — the widest choice: Marhaba, Ahlan Business, Ahlan First, The Emperor, plus airline lounges such as Cathay Pacific and British Airways.
• Terminal 2 (flydubai and low-cost) — a smaller Marhaba lounge with pay-in and Priority Pass access.

Pay-at-the-door lounges and prices

No membership or premium ticket? Walk into Marhaba or Ahlan. Marhaba paid entry starts around 200 AED (~$55), with Ahlan Business similar. The price usually covers a set stay of about three to four hours with a buffet, soft and alcoholic drinks, showers and Wi-Fi. Several lounges run 24 hours. Booking online ahead can beat the walk-up rate and guarantees a spot when the evening departure banks fill the lounges.

Using Priority Pass, DragonPass or a credit card

A lounge membership is the cheapest route if you travel often. Priority Pass (from about $99 a year) is accepted at Marhaba (Terminals 1 and 2, and T3 Concourse B), Ahlan Business and The Emperor; the Prestige tier also opens Ahlan First. Many premium travel credit cards bundle Priority Pass, DragonPass or LoungeKey for free — check yours before paying cash at the door. One firm exception: Emirates lounges are not on Priority Pass.

Emirates lounges (Terminal 3)

Emirates' Business and First Class lounges in Terminal 3 are a destination in themselves — multi-level, with restaurants, spa, showers and, in First, a walkway straight to the aircraft. Access is Emirates-only: a business or first Emirates ticket, or the right Skywards tier. Neither a Priority Pass nor a paid economy ticket gets you in, so non-Emirates travellers use Marhaba or Ahlan instead.

Sleep, shower and spa options

On a long layover the sleep ’n fly sleep lounge (Terminals 1 and 3) rents private cabins and pods by the hour — the cheapest way to lie flat airside without a visa. Showers come with most paid lounges and at sleep ’n fly, and the Timeless Spa in Terminal 3 adds massages and treatments. What's included in a DXB lounge?

Expect a buffet of hot and cold food, unlimited soft drinks and usually alcohol, fast Wi-Fi, power at the seats, newspapers, and showers in most. Independent lounges sell a fixed-length stay; airline lounges keep you until your flight. The lounges are busiest during the late-evening departure wave, so arrive with time to actually enjoy the food and a shower before boarding.
