Dubai Airport buses in one minute
RTA buses stop directly outside the Arrivals level at all three Dubai Airport (DXB) terminals, with routes across most city districts and fares from 4 AED on a Nol card. This page lists every route by terminal, the N30 night bus and the 2026 fares. One big catch first: no bus runs directly to Downtown Dubai — for the Burj Khalifa area you want the metro or a taxi, while buses shine for Deira, Al Qusais and the residential districts below.
Fares and timetables were checked in July 2026 against RTA information. Buses are air-conditioned, run almost around the clock, and reserve front seating for women and children.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Operator | RTA (Roads & Transport Authority) |
| Stops | Outside Arrivals at Terminals 1, 2 and 3 |
| Fare | 4 / 6 / 8.5 AED by zones (Nol Red Ticket) |
| Payment | Nol card only — no tickets sold on board |
| Hours | 04:00–01:00; C01 runs 24/7; N30 night bus 21:00–05:00 |
| Downtown | No direct line — take the metro or a taxi |
| Luggage | Large suitcases not permitted on RTA buses |
Is there a bus from Dubai Airport to Downtown?
No. Not a single bus line runs directly from DXB to Downtown Dubai, and a trip with changes takes over an hour. The Red Line metro covers it in about 25 minutes from Terminal 1 or 3, and a metered taxi does it in about 20 minutes for roughly 60 AED.
Decision rule: heading Downtown, to the Marina or to a hotel with luggage — skip the bus. Take it when your destination sits on one of the routes below, you travel light, and 1–2 AED of savings per zone matters more than time.
Which buses stop at each terminal?
Each terminal has its own set of local routes, all boarding outside Arrivals:
| Terminal | Routes |
|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | 11A (Gold Souq–Al Awir), 24 (Al Nahda 2–International City), 32C (Al Qusais–Al Satwa), 33 (Al Ghubaiba–Al Qusais), 64A (Gold Souq–Ras Al Khor), 77 (Baniyas Square–Al Garhoud) |
| Terminal 2 | 20 (Al Nahda–Al Warsan 3), 31 (T2–Oud Al Mateena), 43 (Gold Souq–Al Qusais Industrial), express 13B |
| Terminal 3 | 77 (Baniyas Square–T3), C01 (T3–Al Satwa, 24/7) |
Three specials worth knowing. The N30 night bus serves all three terminals from 21:00 to 05:00 and links DXB with Dragon Mart 2 and International City. The C01 to Al Satwa is the only round-the-clock route. And the E700 intercity coach connects DXB with Fujairah Bus Station.
How much does the bus cost from DXB?
A single ride costs 4 AED for one zone, 6 AED for two, and 8.5 AED for longer trips with the paper Nol Red Ticket (the card itself costs 2 AED). Drivers do not sell tickets, so buy the card at the airport metro stations or ticket machines in Arrivals before boarding.
Riding transit more than a few times? The Silver Card costs 25 AED with 19 AED of credit preloaded and drops each fare to 3 / 5 / 7.5 AED by zone. One fare covers up to 3 transfers within 180 minutes, children under 5 ride free, and the card needs a minimum balance of 7.5 AED to start a trip. Checked July 2026.
Can I take luggage on an airport bus?
Officially, large luggage items are not permitted on RTA buses — the rule that disqualifies the bus for most arriving travellers. Hand luggage travels fine.
With a suitcase, the metro allows one case plus one hand bag per passenger, which covers most solo travellers. More bags than that, or a stroller in summer heat, points straight to a taxi or a pre-booked transfer with meet-and-greet.
When do airport buses run?
Standard routes operate from 04:00 to 01:00, which covers early departures and most late arrivals. Between 21:00 and 05:00 the N30 night bus takes over at all three terminals, and the C01 never stops at all.
Landing between 01:00 and 04:00 with a destination off the N30 route? That gap belongs to taxis — the rank outside Arrivals works 24/7. Track your landing time against the schedule on the live arrivals board.
